Preparing Files for Output
If you have a file you need printed, here are a few tips. Please let us know what program you used & whether it was PC or Mac. If possible, provide us with a pdf of your job, and include fonts and graphics. Be aware that all monitors and printers are different so what colors you see on your screen may appear differently when printed. Providing us with a hard copy (printed copy) can help as well. Also remember that if you pull photos off the web, they may be low resolution and will not print well. Press and Digital printing differ in how a file needs to be prepared, so know which method will be used before sending files. Color issues arise when a file has been prepared in an RGB environment and needs to be printed in a CMYK environment. If this all sounds like a foreign language, feel free to call us and we can walk you through it!

Getting Estimates
If you would like to receive an estimate for your upcoming job, please email or call. Here are a few things to be prepared with: approximate quantity or quantities, size of original, full color, two color or black and white, color and type of paper, number of originals, printed on front and back, files provided or design work needed, finish work necessary, and whether the color runs all the way to the edge of the original (called a bleed).

Software & Media
Our graphic department works on both PC and Mac to provide our customers with the best service. We work primarily in graphic programs such as Creative Suite's Adobe Illustrator, In-Design, Acrobat and Photoshop. We can accept your jobs done in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Publisher, and even Powerpoint, although this program is definitely not set up for printed media. Other programs may require that you convert them to pdf, jpeg, eps or tif for us to access them. If you work in Microsoft Works, be sure to save your file as a Word file before providing it to us. Always call if you are not sure. We are happy to help with the process! You can send us files through email, or bring in CD, DVD, thumb drive or, if you must, we can still access floppy disks or zip drives.
